Falcon Football – Players Entering Grades 3-8 in Fall 2019

Falcon Football is a program jointly sponsored by the Wilbraham Parks and Recreation Department and the Falcon Youth Football Association. We are excited to open registration for the 2019 season and look forward to working with your youth player. 

REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Step 1: Register here ONLINE ONLY* through Wilbraham Parks and Rec and pay the registration fee.
Step 2: Complete the Falcon Youth Football Association packet (found below, under 'Additional Forms and Files'), and turn it in with all required deposit checks and forms to one of the Registration and Equipment Pick
Up nights.
*Only option to online only payment is to go through online registration process, and at the end, click "Print Registration Form". This form should be brought into the Rec office ASAP with a check, as your child will not be registered until payment is made*

Player registration is not complete until all paperwork, registration fees, and deposits are paid to Wilbraham Parks and Recreation AND the Falcon Youth Football Association.

Registration Fees and Dates:
Early Bird Registration:
- April 15 - May 31, $150
- Registration: June 1–June 12, $175
- Late Registration: After June 13 – July 26, $175 + WRPD Late Fee

Three deposit checks are required to be submitted with packet at the FYFA Equipment Pick Up Events.
- A $75 equipment security deposit check (check only, no credit cards or cash accepted for this deposit).
- Make check payable to “FYFA”. This deposit check will not be cashed unless equipment is not returned on the designated date and in good condition at the end of season.
- A $100 fundraising deposit check ($150 for multiple player families) to cover your FYFA fundraising commitment. Make check(s) payable to “Falcon Youth Football Association” (FYFA). This check will only be cashed if the family fails to sell their required tickets.
- A $125 volunteer deposit check to cover your FYFA volunteer commitment. Make check(s) payable to “Falcon Youth Football Association” (FYFA). This deposit check will not be cashed unless a family fails to complete their five (5) hour volunteer commitment during the course of the regular season.

Refund Policy: Football is an expensive sport to participate in, and like other activities and/or sports you or your child may partake in, there is the chance you may be unhappy with the WPRD, the coach, the program, etc. Unfortunately, once registration ends on July 12. THERE ARE NO REFUNDS NO MATTER THE CIRCUMSTANCE.

Please Note:
  • All players are required to pay a registration fee to the Wilbraham Parks and Recreation Department and deposits for equipment, fundraising and volunteering to the Falcon Youth Football Association as outlined below.
  • School Choice and non-Wilbraham residents: The FYFA will be paying your $25 non-resident fee.
  • For new players registering after May 31st we will honor the early bird rate through June 12th. To receive the early bird rate please call WPRD at 413-596-2816 (M-F 8:30 – 4:30) before registering online.
  • Scholarships may be available, please contact fyfafootball@gmail.com for the application.
  • All players must be registered prior to July 26.
  • On the registration form, you will be required to list three parent/guardian/emergency contacts for each player. They will be contacted in case of emergency and for all FYFA related business. For emergencies, we will contact the parent in order as you have provided them.

Equipment:
Provided by FYFA: The following are provided and issued by FYFA for use of the participant. Items with an *, indicate items the participant will keep, all other items are to be returned to FYFA

Helmet & Chin Strap
Game Jersey
Game Pants
*Mouth Guard
*New Players – Practice Jersey

Player Responsibility: These items must be purchased by the parent/guardian, they are required for the participant.

Football Pants for Practice (group ordering will be available)
Football shoes, molded, non-metal and non-removable cleats
Athletic supporter and cup
Game Socks (Black)
Replacement Practice Jersey (group ordering will be available)

Key Dates:
  • June 5, 2019 from 5-8 pm – FYFA Registration and Equipment Pick Up Event at the Spec Pond Concession Stand
  • July 18, 2019 from 6-7 pm – FYFA Registration and Equipment Pick Up Event at the Spec Pond Concession Stand
  • July 30, 2019 at 5:30 pm – FYFA Kick Off Celebration at Spec Pond
  • July 31, 2019 – Kick Off Celebration Rain Date
  • August 1, 2019 – Practice Begins (practice is held 3 -5 times per week at the discretion of the coach)
  • August 8, 2019 – Weigh-In at Greenwood Center located at 231 Maple Rd. in Longmeadow (Times TBD) If a player misses SAFL weigh-ins he will play as an “over” player (lineman).
  • TBD – Western Mass Youth Football night where coaches and players from the high schools will attend and assist in youth practices.
  • August 17, 2019 – SAFL Kick Off
  • September 2019 – Games start Labor Day Weekend and Playoffs run into mid-November. (Generally, JV games are on Saturday and Varsity games are on Saturday/Sunday)
  • TBD – Wilbraham Friends of Recreation Night in the Park
  • November 2 or 3, 2019 – FYFA to host quarter final play-off game at Spec Pond
  • November 9, 2019 - Super Bowl held in East Longmeadow
